SONSHIP: Part Five

PART FIVE: “KING DAVID”

“And Samuel said unto Jesse, ‘Are here all thy children?’ And he said, ‘There remains yet the youngest, and behold, he keeps the sheep’. And David said to Saul, ‘Let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine.’ And Saul said to David, ‘Thou art NOT ABLE to go against this Philistine to fight with him: FOR THOU ART BUT A YOUTH, and he a man of war from his youth.’ David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion and out of the paw of the bear, He will deliver out of the hand of this Philistine. And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a YOUTH Then said David to the Philistine ‘This day WILL the LORD deliver thee into my hand.’ And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came and drew nigh unto David, that David HASTED and RAN TOWARD THE ARMY TO MEET THE PHILISTINE. And David took the head of the Philistine, and brought it to Jerusalem; but he put the armor in his tent” (1 Samuel 16: 6 – Chap. 18).

Lord, I ask for Your revelation in this lesson; I ask that You direct my writing; that Your message will come forth to the people it concerns, in Jesus name!

I am so excited about who David represents in this Scripture and what it is about him that should personally impact each of us. He has a heart for God. It is VITAL you see this, as God ENDORSES this teenager who had a heart for Him. We see in 1 Samuel 13: 14 that David fulfills the heart desire of God, “But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought Him a man after His own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over His people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.” Church, it matters NOT the age, gender, culture, or status of a person; it DOES matter that you recognize the person’s HEART towards God!.

As a healthcare provider, I often have to deal with the physical issues of the heart. It is the organ that is vital in pumping blood to all of the body systems. The blood carries the oxygen necessary to the functioning of all body cells and as God declared, “Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the LIFE OF ALL FLESH IS THE BLOOD THEREOF.” (Leviticus 17: 10-14). I believe that when Scripture speaks of the “heart”; it is synonymous with that person’s spirit. As you can see in the above Scripture, many people (elder brother, King Saul, Goliath) will say or infer that, “You’re too young to do this for God; you haven’t gone to seminary school; you haven’t done all we have done; you are to be seen, not heard; you’re from the wrong social class; you’re the wrong color; you DON’T THINK THE WAY WE DO AND YOU DON’T KNOW THE RULES OF WAR, etc.” It seems to me that we are often at war with the future of mankind, rather than the enemy. “The thing that hath been, is that which SHALL BE; and the thing which is done is that which SHALL BE done: and there is NO NEW THING UNDER THE SUN. Is there ANY THING whereof it may be said, see, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us” (Ecclesiastes 1: 4- 10).

David When we allow the PAST to control our worship of Jesus and our relationship with Him (He is a NOW GOD), it erects walls that are held in place by the cement of our self-made “religious tradition.” The walls isolate us from relationship with others and especially with our youth. If the younger generations are to be “seen only” we invite apathy, discouragement, and we murder the spirit within them. Our disdain of their abilities can actually stop the LIFE flow of the spirit (heart) in them and this can also apply to the new “baby in Christ.” Jesus said in Matthew 18: 5, 6, “And whoso shall receive one such little child in My name receives Me. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which BELIEVE IN ME, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.”

David exhibits the passion and fire I desire to see in the young people and church of TODAY. I recently went to an African American church to hear a friend of mine speak. Several youth were sitting toward the back of the church in their little “group.” I was watching them through the first part of the service and they were whispering and fooling around. During the first part of worship, some of them sang and some didn’t; but the thing I noted most was that hardly any of them smiled and all looked bored beyond description. I glanced around at the congregation and most of them had that same expression of boredom. Then a group of about six or seven of the choir split off and came down to main floor level and a musical introduction began. Just before they started to sing one of them called to a girl in the audience to, “Come on up.” She hung back a bit and it was as if she was wrestling within but suddenly, she jumped to her feet and RAN UP and grabbed the microphone and she opened her mouth and SANG with passion and joy! The kids went wild; it was like a bolt of lightning hit them. They were singing, clapping, dancing, laughing, smiling and just PRAISING the LORD with “all their might!”

Do you remember David doing just that same thing? “And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul’s daughter looked through the window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.” (2 Samuel 6: 16). The girl that was singing unto the LORD had recently been DELIVERED from “crack cocaine.” That was her “paw of the lion” and she BELIEVED that Jesus had forgiven her sin and she was shouting VICTORY over the enemy (1 Peter 5: 8)! Oh Hallelujah!

I was able to pray with that young woman after the service and I felt such an anointing on her LIFE. I was given a word from the LORD for her and it was, “To step out in the call He had given her; to touch the LIVES of the children and teens in the street through her gifts of music and dance. That God the Father saw the beauty within her heart. He had created her with purpose and as she stepped out to do what she loved to do, she would be transformed into His likeness through His grace.” I feel that this is also a specific message to some of you reading this and I encourage you to “run forward and do not fear, for He is with you.”

SONSHIP: Part Four


“YOUTH WITH PURPOSE”

“And God remembered Rachel… And she conceived, and bare a son; and said, God hath taken away my reproach: And she called his name JOSEPH; and said, ‘The LORD shall add to me another son’ ” (Genesis 30: 22-24). “These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being SEVENTEEN years old, was feeding the flock with his brethren; and the lad was with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives: and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report. Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colors. And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him. And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren, and they hated him yet more…” (Genesis 37: 2-13).

When I first read the story of Joseph I was saddened and angry with the insensitivity of his elder brothers. I felt sorry for Joseph; the victim of a diabolical plot by those he thought loved him. It was the brothers jealousy that sent them “over the edge” when they originally threw Joseph into a pit to die, but later sold him into a life of slavery (Genesis 37: 24-36). To prove to their father that their lie was truth, they rubbed goat’s blood on the precious coat Jacob had given to Joseph and had it presented as the evidence of Joseph’s death (Genesis 37: 31-35). I was re-reading this account of Joseph and noted that in verse 32 it actually says , “they sent the coat…” and it wasn’t until later (verse 35) that the sons and daughters went to comfort their father. Note at the end of verse 32 and in verse 33 it says, “This we have found: know now whether it be thy son’s coat or no. And he KNEW it, and said, It is my son’s coat; an evil beast hath devoured him…” The sons never did say Joseph had been torn by animals; Jacob just came to that conclusion himself. “Oh the tangled web we weave, when we practice to deceive.” The pretense of innocence shielding selfishness likes to manifest itself to the very last because if you remember, Jacob had once deceived his father by the skin of a kid (Genesis 27: 16).

So, in fairness, let’s take another look at the brothers. I am the eldest child of eight and I don’t have to ponder too long to KNOW how I would have felt if I was Judah, or Levi, or any one of the other brothers? Joseph’s brothers were pretty young when this event occurred; Reuben (eldest) about 29 years old and Benjamin (youngest) 7 or 8 years of age. The brothers who sold Joseph would most likely have been the 10 older ones; as Benjamin (youngest) would be kept at home. Therefore, the ones 18-29 years old; often thought to be more “self-centered”, thoughtless, reckless, and jealous than those in the later years of life, were the ones who got rid of Joseph. Last week I discussed the numeral TEN and its possible meaning being DIVINE ORDER or the beginning of a NEW CYCLE. I remind you of the two dreams Joseph had prior to his being sold (Genesis 37: 5- 11) and also that God always has a plan we have little knowledge of (Genesis 45: 4- 15). “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55: 8, 9). God was using the actions of these ten young men to bring about His divine order and purpose for Joseph and Israel as a nation (Jeremiah 29: 10-14). Hallelujah!

Now, I come to Joseph. He is the 11th son of Jacob, but the FIRST son of Rachel (Genesis 30: 22-24). Scripture says, “Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children…” (Genesis 37: 3). Children see it when a parent shows a respect of persons and this will almost always cause trouble within the family. I remember a time when my brothers, sisters, and I were young (even now, probably) that I would not have looked very kindly on a younger brother who was given a “special coat”; particularly a young brother who was a “tattle-tale” and one who was always getting the rest of us into trouble! BUT, I see God’s hand in this as well. I believe that all the “special attention” Joseph received at such an early age gave him a bit of an “attitude” don’t you? I can just hear him when he’s alone with his brothers, “Hey you guys, better not try anything with me because you all know I’m the man, favored by Dad. Hey, look at this coat; don’t any of you be touching it; Dad gave it to me… I’m special” and on and on he goes. I see there is truth in Joseph’s birth “position” at that time in his life. He is causing DISORDER in the family through what his elders see as the “arrogance and imperfection” of someone who should be “seen and not heard”. However, God had a plan for Joseph: several years in “God’s Defining and Refining” school (Genesis 39-42). Have you been to that school yet? God doesn’t necessarily CHANGE a person’s personality, but He frequently “reshapes it for His glory”.

The rest of the story expounds on the SOVEREIGNTY of GOD. After many years and a famine, the TWELVE sons and Israel, their father, are to be reunited as a “family”. “And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I. And He said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation: I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes. And they went into Egypt; Jacob and his 11 sons: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, Gad, Asher, Benjamin, Dan, Naphtali, and all their children (three-score and ten). And Joseph placed his father and his brethren (12 sons together again), and gave them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land of Ramses, as Pharaoh had commanded. And Israel dwealt in the land of Egypt, in the country of Goshen; and they had possessions therein, and GREW, and MULTIPLIED EXCEEDINGLY. And Jacob lived in the land of Egypt SEVENTEEN YEARS…” (Genesis 45-47). God gave Jacob 17 more years with Joseph; EXACTLY the same years as was Joseph when he was sold. What an awesome God; He brings ORDER to lives that seem chaotic. HE IS IN CONTROL!

“Now unto Him that is able to do EXCEEDING ABUNDANTLY above all that we ask or THINK, according to the power that worketh in us, UNTO HIM BE GLORY IN THE CHURCH BY CHRIST JESUS throughout all ages, world without end. Amen” (Ephesians 3: 20, 21).

SONSHIP: Part Three


“FOUNDATIONS”

“Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land…And the Lord’s anger was kindled against Israel, and He made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had done evil in the sight of the LORD, was consumed” (Numbers 32: 11-13). And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, the repairer of the breach, the restorer of paths to dwell in” (Isaiah 58: 12).

This lesson is FOUNDATIONAL for the next couple messages. It may be a bit tedious; hang in there! I pray that God will use these words to prepare your hearts to receive ALL that He has for you and for those you are called to minister to.

I want to suggest possible meanings to three different numerals that will be important to this series of messages. The first is “eleven”. You don’t see this number in Scripture very often (about 38 times). What may be more important than the numeral 11 is the number that comes before it and after it. Eleven is more than 10 (which can mean complete order); it is also less than 12 (which can mean Divine government). Therefore, I suggest that ELEVEN signifies: disorder, imperfection, and incompleteness of “earthly” government. Some examples in Scripture can be found in (Exodus 26: 7; Deuteronomy 1: 12; Joshua 15: 51; 2 Kings 23: 36; 24: 18; Matthew 20: 6; 28: 16; Acts 1: 26).

The second numeral is “ten” and it often represents the beginning of a new SERIES/CYCLE. The number ten can be used to suggest the perfection of Divine order, but along with this order is an implication of the “responsibility” of man. I see TEN as meaning: man’s responsibility toward God. An example is found in Genesis 1 and the words “God said” occurs ten times and each time it addresses man’s responsibility in the presence of God’s Word. Other examples in Scripture are in Exodus 20 (Ten Commandments); and in Matthew 13, 22, and 25 (Ten parables of the Kingdom).

Finally, the numeral “twelve” denotes SOVEREIGNTY and speaks of Divine government on the earth. It symbolizes governmental perfection and we KNOW the world is desperately in need of that! In Matthew 19: 28 the LORD predicts a day when He, the Son of Man, shall sit in the throne of His GLORY (sets my feet to dancing) and He promises that His apostles “shall sit upon twelve thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” Revelation 21 describes “that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from GOD” (vs. 10); with its 12 gates, 12 angels, 12 names of tribes, 12 foundations, 12 precious stones, names of 12 apostles, and its measurement each way 12 thousand furlongs: all symbolic of the Divine and perfect government of Jesus Christ and all His glorified saints over creation (Luke 22: 28-30)! Hallelujah!

All of you are familiar with what is written in Leviticus and Numbers, correct? In Numbers 1: 1-3 the LORD told Moses to take a poll of the children of Israel according to their house (tribe). He was specific in who was to be counted and why: every MALE from TWENTY years old and upward would be eligible for draft into the armies of Israel. By this information, I am assuming that any person younger than twenty was considered a child/youth. In the Strong’s Concordance the meaning of “youth” (Hebrew – “na’ar”): is a boy, from the age of infancy to adolescence (in USA today that is about 1 – 13); also, a girl (of similar latitude in age). Those younger than 20 years were probably not considered “vital” to the “whole of the community.” I do not see that this has changed significantly over time; even within the “western world view.” The children, women, and elderly are the “voiceless” in many societies of the world and I include the CHURCH COMMUNITY in this as well! Today we still look to those male warriors from 20 – 60 years of age (give or take a couple years) as the driving force within any social system. They are seen as productive and valuable within any given generation. Interestingly, the numeral TWENTY (Hebrew – “asar; ashar”) in the Strong’s Concordance means to accumulate; to grow (caus. make) rich.

I believe God has given me a specific revelation regarding the value of those seen as “weaker or insignificant” in the world view (1 Corinthians 1: 19-25). It may not be a new or profound revelation to some of you, as God is faithful in showing all of us the end from the beginning. However, since God put this into my spirit, I have been looking with “altered vision” at various group dynamics that function around me in day to day life. I am perhaps seeing some things from HIS eyes and I am very EXCITED about what He IS DOING and WILL CONTINUE to do throughout the next several months.

SONSHIP: Part Two


“FAITH AS A CHILD”

“I love them that love Me; and those who seek Me early shall find Me” (Proverbs 8: 17). “But when Jesus saw it, He was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto Me, and forbid them not; for such is the kingdom of God” (Mark 10: 14). “Ye are all the children of light, and the children of day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness” (1 Thessalonians 5: 5). “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God…” (Romans 8: 16).

Holy Spirit has been imparting an awesome revelation into my spirit. I have been pondering how to write it in a way that you can understand what I am sensing and then, where to begin. This week I feel I am to introduce a small portion of what I believe God is saying to the Church and to the nations of the world for this season. What He is revealing may occur over the next several months, or perhaps years. I pray Holy Spirit will bring His clarity with the written words and give each of you a confirming witness in your spirit.

First, I want to say I KNOW GOD KNOWS the END FROM THE BEGINNING! A year or so ago I would say, “I can look back and see God had His hand in this part of my life, or that part of my life, etc.” TODAY I say, “I see God right now.” He is beside me, or ahead of me; continually beckoning me, enticing me, leading me, speaking to me, confirming His presence in so many different ways and in so many things; that I truly feel I am in a daze most days! I never seem to get anything done ahead of time. If I do organize or prepare a plan, Holy Spirit turns it upside down before I get it half done and it turns into something I didn’t intend to do or say…but it is ‘JUST RIGHT’ anyway! He is so GREAT; I love Him so and I KNOW HE IS ALWAYS THERE. I see God in His Word; through many of your responses; through strangers; through songs; and in prayer, etc. His unique ways of revelation are as complex (yet so simple) and as multifaceted as He is.

Nothing is “just a coincidence” anymore; I see everything around and in my life as being touched by His hand and it brings such peace to my spirit. I am finally coming to the place where I can TRUST He is there in every circumstance; good, or bad. I have started to look at things that at first seem NEGATIVE and wonder, “Okay God, what is it You’re trying to say, or show me in this; what are You doing that I can’t see; whose life will be touched because of what is happening; where are You going with this, etc.” Do you know something? It brings CONTINUAL EXCITEMENT and JOY into my life! I live with an expectation that “something is about to happen” all the time! PLEASE, do NOT think I am some spiritual super hero. I am not; I AM A CHILD OF GOD and I believe all of us as God’s children can experience all the blessings we decide we personally want; just by simply receiving them (2 Corinthians 1: 20). We just have to become like children and begin seeing everything about us as something “new and special”… like pretty packages ready to be ripped open!

A year ago Holy Spirit impressed on me to reach out to the women in the community I work in and form a prayer group that would pray for the needs within their community and lives. I work in a poor, rural area that has a high number of single women with children, a high incidence of drug abuse, addiction, and unemployment. The prayer group was to be non-denominational and was to cross cultural and socioeconomic barriers. Well it began and it has been a great blessing as many issues are being lifted to the Lord each week. At the beginning of this year I felt we needed to bring in the young women and children as they are often the ones with “no voice.” This has indeed proven to be EXACTLY what God wanted. I am seeing children from three years old to fifteen years old praying for each other, for their family, friends, and community! These are kids who have little to be thankful for; most of their mothers have been addicted and most of them don’t know who their fathers are.

I know this is the circumstance of many millions of children in the world about us; HOWEVER, there is ABBA FATHER and He loves these little children! Two weeks ago one of the mothers and I were talking as we waited for the doors to open. She has four children under the age of eight. She told me about a dream her five year old daughter had the night before. “Mommy I saw Jesus in the sky and there were lots of gold lights around Him. On the ground I saw this man who was looking up at Jesus and shaking his hand at Him and he was yelling and telling Jesus to, ‘Go back, go back!’ ” The Mom said, “I didn’t know what to say to her.” About five minutes after that another lady arrived. We were catching up on her news and then she said, “I got the strangest call from my niece last night. Her eleven year old son had a strange dream. He said, “I saw five big round balls of golden light in the sky and they looked like they were dancing. Suddenly, they joined together and made one great big, bright gold ball. I didn’t see anyone but I heard a man’s voice from within the ball say, ‘Go tell the people I am coming soon’ and then it floated up into the sky.” HALLELUJAH!

He is revealing Himself and His plans to the CHILDREN. To those with hearts that “just BELIEVE, that just TRUST” that what they dream IS true. Their hearts are pure, they love as Jesus loves; unconditionally. Their Moms and Dads may not feed or clothe them; they may be beaten and neglected… yet, the children still love the parents; “just because they are Mom and Dad.” GOD in His wisdom is revealing Himself to these young hearts; to the hearts of those who will BELIEVE He IS REAL – just because He says so.

Church, God is saying, “Pour into these children My TRUTH; My LOVE… they will be called the ‘JOSEPH GENERATION.’ ” They will be the generation who will usher in My glory and My kingdom here on earth (Isaiah 44: 1-5; Acts 2: 17). When I, who am your life appears then you also will appear with Me in glory. “I AM COMING QUICKLY!” Amen.”

SUBMISSION TO THE DIVINE CHALLENGE: Part One

PART ONE: Clouds Can Block Vision

“For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name.” (Psalm 61: 5). “The angel of the LORD encamps round about them that fear Him and delivers them. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusts in Him. O fear the LORD, ye His saints: for there is no want to them that fear Him…” “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivers him out of them all” (Psalm 34: 7-9, 19). “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the LORD (Isaiah 54: 17). “But unto you that fear My name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in His wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.” (Malachi 4: 2). “Create in me a PURE heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me…” “Search me, O God, and know my heart; TEST me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive ways in me, and lead me in the way everlasting” (Psalm 51: 10; 139: 23, 24).

This is the first message of a series. After much time in prayer, I believe Holy Spirit has given me a word (multifaceted) for all of us as we face the outcomes of our personal and corporate choices over the next several months. We are in a season of great transition and it heralds the birth of a new and different system of order as well as disorder. This is not a new revelation. Solomon, the wisest man ever known in the physical world, noted in his summation found in Ecclesiastes 1, “…there is nothing new under the sun.”

We, as believers in and disciples of Jesus Christ, are being called to take our positions and draw our swords for the battle that has always loomed on the horizon. The enemy has caused and continues to cause much fear and division within the Body of Christ. There are many holes (within individual members and THEREFORE, within the corporate Body – see 1 Corinthians 12: 14-26) that weaken our TRUST in God’s OMNIPRESENCE (Presence in all things); OMNISCIENCE (All Knowing); OMNIPOTENCE (All Powerful) in areas of our physical and spiritual world. As Nehemiah pointed out to the rulers, leaders, and the people; the work is great and large, and we are separated upon the wall, one far from another. While some of you are now, or soon will be called to RESTORE the breached walls of disunity; others are, or will be called to stand watch over them in faithful prayer with the “Sword of Truth” gripped tightly in their hands every moment of each day (Nehemiah 4: 15-19). Verse 20 is very significant and we need to pay heed to what it is saying; “In what place therefore ye HEAR the sound of the trumpet, resort ye thither unto us: our GOD SHALL FIGHT FOR US.”

I believe the Lord of Hosts is sounding the trumpet this very hour and I also believe that only those who are united in ONE SPIRIT will be given “ears to hear” it’s call.
“So, as Holy Spirit says, ‘TODAY if ye will hear His voice, DO NOT harden not your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of TESTING in the desert, where your fathers tested and tried Me and for forty years saw what I did.’ That is why I was angry with that generation, and I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known My ways.’ So I declared an oath in My anger, ‘They shall never enter My rest.’ See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, UNBELIEVING heart that turns away from the LIVING God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ IF we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first. As has just been said: ‘TODAY if you hear His voice, do NOT harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion'” (Hebrews 3; see also Ezekiel 22: 30).

Thick Cloud I have chosen two men of God (Abraham and Job) and their personal stories to illustrate what my spirit is hearing from the LORD and what I am hearing through readers’ prayer requests. First, I want to remind you of the time Jesus took Peter, James, and John up into the mountain to pray and while they were praying the countenance of Jesus was altered and the disciples saw His glory? Peter was excitedly telling Jesus they should begin a building program when suddenly, “…there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they FEARED (meaning: dusk; twilight) as they entered into the cloud…” (Luke 9: 34).

Many of us face suffering in some form or another, sometimes sudden and acute and sometimes ongoing (chronic). Whatever the case, I believe there is often ONE thing that will cause you to question whether God KNOWS about it, or even cares. CLOUDS can represent our sorrows, sufferings, and circumstances both within and without our personal lives. If you have traveled by plane, you can identify with the idea of being swallowed by the clouds about the plane; all you see is “white-out” through any of the windows. Yet, IF you had flown before you do not become fearful. You KNOW that the pilot and the plane’s radar will get the plane through the areas where there is no visibility. We read ALL that happened in the lives of Abraham and Job, so we actually see through the clouds that engulfed them and it’s why we don’t always immediately identify with their pain. However, both these men saw and felt exactly what each of us see and feel as we go through suffering, anxiety, fear, disillusionment, etc. in the personal problems that suddenly overshadow us.

The ONE thing that most of us fear as we begin to walk through the clouds about us is the UNKNOWN. What is going to happen? How will I cope? What can I do? Why is this happening? When will it be over? Where are You, God? Nahum says that clouds are a sign that God IS THERE; “…the clouds are the dust of His feet” (1: 3). What awesome revelation; to KNOW that all the clouds in our life are actually the clouds that come along WITH GOD! Hallelujah! It is through these times of heartache and pain that Holy Spirit teaches us how to walk by faith (we don’t see the end as we begin to walk through).

God has given us Abraham and Job as “case studies” to illustrate how we must UNLEARN some things we have accepted as important in our personal lives. Have you considered that it is the clouds in your life that simplify your beliefs until your RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM is exactly that of a child — a relationship that is only between God and your own soul? It is the place where there is absolute and total trust in Him alone; where all the clouds around you become as shadows at the revelation of His glory!

“The brightness of My glory is truly about you. Receive My peace, heart rest, and comfort amidst agitation, confusion, and suffering. My angels stand beside you to buttress, protect, and minister to you. The “unknown” is only according to your vision; Trust Me and just place one foot ahead of the other as we walk together. My blessing is rich and I add no sorrow to it.”

Let Your Voice Be Heard IN Heaven


Joy In The Morning

In the recent weeks we have seen much political and social unrest throughout many nations in the world. We have read many opinions and have listened to personal agendas as well. Many aspire to get to the “top position” in government and they will claw their way up and over whoever they must and by whatever means are necessary to get there. Some use covert methods; others use “hidden ways” to undermine or remove the opponents. I am thankful that I KNOW GOD and I have faith and trust in His ability to raise up these leaders as well as bring them down when God’s plans and purposes for that person are completed. No matter what nation you live in; you must realize that THIS IS THE “NOW TIME” TO FAST and PRAY for every person who is in authority over you (1 Timothy 2: 1-3; 1 Peter 2: 13-24); with a voice (prayers) that reaches the ears of our heavenly Father.

Isaiah 58: 4-14 tells us, “(The facts are that) you fast only for strife and debate and to smite with the fist of wickedness. Fasting as you do today will not cause your voice to be heard on high. Is such a fast as yours what I have chosen, a day for a man to humble himself with sorrow in his soul? (Is true fasting merely mechanical?) Is it only to bow down his head like a bulrush and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him (to indicate a condition of heart that he does not have)? Will you call this a fast and an acceptable day to the Lord?

(Rather) is not this the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every (enslaving) yoke? Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house–when you see the naked, that you cover him, and that you hide not yourself from (the needs of) your own flesh and blood?

Then shall your light break forth like the morning, and your healing (your restoration and the power of a new life) shall spring forth speedily; your righteousness (your rightness, your justice, and your relationship with God) shall go before you (conducting you to peace and prosperity), and the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard (see Genesis 32: 24-26). Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and He will say, Here I am. If you take away from your midst yokes of oppression (wherever you find them), the finger pointed in scorn (toward the oppressed or the godly), and every form of false, harsh , unjust, and wicked speaking, and if you pour out that with which you sustain your own life for the hungry and satisfy the need of the afflicted, THEN SHALL YOUR LIGHT RISE in darkness, and your obscurity and gloom become LIKE THE NOONDAY.

And the Lord shall guide you continually and satisfy you in DROUGHT and DRY places and make strong your bones. And you shall be like a WATERED GARDEN and like a spring whose waters fail not. And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations (of buildings that have laid waste) for many generations; and you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, Restorer of Streets to Dwell In. If you turn away your foot from (traveling unduly on ) the Sabbath, from doing your own pleasure on My holy day, and call the Sabbath a (spiritual) delight, the holy day of the Lord, honorable, and honor Him and it, not going your own way or seeking or finding your own pleasure or speaking with your own (idle) words, THEN will you delight yourself in the Lord, and I WILL make you to ride on the high places of the earth, and will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father; for THE MOUTH OF THE LORD HAS SPOKEN IT.

The Season of Singing Is Here!


“Draw me away! We will run after you. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving-kindness I have drawn you. I drew them with gentle cords, with bands of love. My lover spoke and said to me, ‘Arise my darling, my beautiful one, and come with me. See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land. The fig tree forms its early fruit; the blossoming vines spread their fragrance. Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with me.’ I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself. Behold, the Lamb of God! As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life” (Song of Solomon 1: 4; Jeremiah 31: 3; Hosea 11: 4; John 12; 32; 1: 36; 3: 14, 15).

I rejoice that I am saved by the precious blood of the Lamb this day and I rejoice that He chose to die for my sins! smile Many who consider themselves part of the “body of Jesus Christ” will look at the ones worshipping beside them and think they were always the way they see them now. This is not so; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3: 23). My own life is a living example of God’s amazing grace. Yesterday in the clinic a client said, “Well, if you train a child in the way he should go, when he is old he will not turn from it.” I then asked her, “What if the child is not trained in the way he should go?”

I was raised in the church from a very early age and I really liked to attend the services. However, as a teenager, I was more influenced by my friends and my “wants” and I quickly turned away from the LORD when I left home at seventeen. My life from that point was far from godly. Eventually I married and had children. I loved my three children, but I wasn’t there much. Their early years were spent in a daycare and in the evenings they were with various babysitters while their mom was “out for awhile”. Sunday was not a day I chose for church, it was a recovery day from the weekend. I remember my mother being there to help me out when I got myself into messes and she never complained, or criticized me (Matthew 7: 1; Romans 8:1; 14: 10). Before she left to go home she would always say, “Judy, Jesus loves you and so do I.” I used to get roaring mad when she’d say that and would respond with, “Mom, just be quiet! I don’t want to hear about Jesus every time you open your mouth” (John 16: 1-11; 2 Corinthians 4: 3-5)! Time went on and in 1996 God decided it was time to draw me back under the shadow of His wing. I have never been the same since and I am so VERY GRATEFUL for His mercy and grace! I am now the mother who says to my sons, “Jesus loves you and so do I”, but there is a difference for them; they never grew up in a church environment as I did. So, what about my sons and all the people out there who have never been in church and who haven’t heard the good news of the Gospel?

The PRAYER of a righteous man is powerful and effective I personally believe there is hope for them because Jesus died for ALL (John 3: 16, 17) and He was raised from the dead and before He ascended into heaven, His command to all of us is in Matthew 28: 18-20. WE are to go and tell others about Christ and through our own life reveal His nature (Galatians 5: 22) and great love. He calls us to be the salt of the earth by positively affecting the people He brings around us. We are to be lights that shine from the indwelling glory of His presence (Matthew 5: 13-16). smile One of the main reasons I believe there is hope for all people is a small statement mentioned in James: “Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” (5: 16). “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their prayer” (1 Peter 3:12).

PRAYER! What a privilege it is to be able to seek the LORD on behalf of the lost. I have faith in God and His Word says, “The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3: 9). The book of Revelation mentions that the prayers of the saints are like bowls full of incense and the smoke of the incense comes up before God (5: 8; 8: 4). So, I will pray for my sons and for my loved ones and for those all around the world who have not yet made Jesus the LORD of their life.

One of my favorite Old Testament prophets is Jeremiah; he had many long talks with God and God used him to speak His words to the tribe of Judah (southern kingdom). Not all to whom we are called to witness will hear us. Not all we pray for will accept Christ Jesus as LORD. Don’t be discouraged, no one listened to Jeremiah either, yet he is still being used by God to speak to all people groups today! Hallelujah! It is not for us to worry about how God will grab a person’s attention or bring the person to the place where they realize their need for Christ. We are only called to be witnesses for Jesus; to take Jesus with us wherever we go and be ready to: “Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage — with great patience and careful instruction…” (Timothy 4: 2-5; also John 12: 37-43).

I am convinced that we in the western churches are in a very precarious place. We have been so blessed yet we apparently feel we don’t need God. Many churches have become like storehouses partially filled with people who are fat, satisfied, and under the illusion that they have reached spiritual maturity. I received a letter this week from a brother in Kenya that reveals a “HUNGER for Jesus” that appears to be lacking here in the western world.

“Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe. In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well” (Mark 16: 15- 18).

This is what the LORD says:
“Hear the word of the LORD, O nations; proclaim it in distant coastlands: ‘He who scattered Israel will gather them and will watch over his flock like a shepherd.’ … They will come and shout for joy in the heights of Zion; they will rejoice in the bounty of the LORD–the grain, the new wine and the oil, the young of the flocks and the herds. They will be like a well-watered garden, and they will sorrow no more. Then maidens will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow. I will satisfy the priests with abundance, and my people will be filled with my bounty,” declares the LORD (Jeremiah 31: 10-14).

This promise is to all the tribes of Israel, not only to Judah. The restoration will include all people who trust God. God reaches toward His people with kindness motivated by deep and everlasting love. He is eager to do the best for them if they will only let Him.

A Prophetic Word For You Today

“The hand of the LORD was upon me, and He brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. He asked me, ‘Son of man, can these bones live?’ I said, ‘O Sovereign LORD, you alone know.’ Then He said to me, ‘Prophesy to these bones and say to them, Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I WILL make breath enter you, and you WILL come to life. I WILL attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I WILL put breath in you and you WILL come to life. Then you WILL know that I am the LORD.’ So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them. Then He said to me, ‘Prophesy to the breath; prophecy, son of man, and say to it, This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’ So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet – a vast army” (Ezekiel 37: 1-10)

Ezekiel was given a vision that illustrated God’s promise for Israel in Chapter 36; new life and a nation restored, both physically and spiritually. Ezekiel may have felt he was speaking to the dead when he preached to the exiles because they rarely responded to his message. But the bones in his vision responded! I know that just as God brought life to the dead bones (Israel) in Ezekiel’s vision, He will also breathe His life into many of the spiritually dead who are sitting in churches today. To you, yes you! smile You, who are reading this; arise and shine for your light has come, and the GLORY of the LORD rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples; but the LORD rises upon you and His GLORY appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn! Hallelujah!

Three years ago today, I received a prophetic word from one of my prayer partners and later that same day I received a second prophetic word that added to the first one. Within 8 hours from that one I had another word that was given by someone that gives daily prophetic words as part of his ministry (1 Corinthians 13: 9, 10). I read them and received them into my spirit as from the LORD for this time in my life (1 Thessalonians 5: 19-21). As I pondered them and prayed about them; I felt that they really weren’t just for me, but for anyone who hears the LORD speak to them through the words. I believe prophetic words are for the body of Christ; to edify, exhort, encourage, and challenge us in our individual and corporate walk to become Christ-like (1 Corinthians 14: 29-33). It is a journey, and as often happens in many journeys; things can happen to take us off course. We can get stuck, lost, sickness slows us, family and friends can cause delays, the vehicle breaks down, cash flow stops, etc. etc. However, these are most likely temporary (Hebrews 11: 9-16). We must always remember we have a Father who will help us in times of setback and that things that seem impossible for us to deal with on our own, do become possible. I believe God uses each of us to speak His life and love into one another’s life. Together, we look to the day of His return. Hallelujah!

The three messages:

First, Ken sends the passage Joshua 1: 1-9 and writes, “Let me prophesy this scripture to you.”
“The time has come to get up and move into what I have for you. The last leadership has passed. You sat under their training and gleaned from them. However, there were things I wanted to do on their behalf that they never allowed Me to accomplish. You rise up. I will give you both the wilderness and the richness of the territory. I will give you every enemy in your territorial boundary that I have promised. I have been waiting for you to enter these blessings. The blessings are in your blood. Your bones cry out for what I have to give to you. Your heart is filled with desire for what I have promised you. Be confident in what I have done in you! Be confident in Me! EXPECT Me to work on your behalf. Align your desires with my desires for you. My desires are best. I have already promised your father and mother what I would do, so you expect Me to do this now! Do not violate My boundaries. Walk wisely and circumspectly before Me and you will prosper. Meditate, chew on My words to you, and you will succeed. You will see your way as a prosperous way and not one cursed and littered with death and destruction. Let this word invigorate you. My vigor dispels fear. Enter in now and daily allow Me to guide you. No enemy on your path can stop you. EXPECT to hear Me daily and feel My presence directing you. EXPECT Me! This is the time to possess and occupy My best for you.”

An hour later I received this word from M. C.:
A New Dawning”You are My light bearers. You are very valuable to Me. I fill you with the light of My glory that others may be drawn to that light. I give you the strength and power to walk in My truth. You are My precious light bearers and I take delight in you. The hour is upon you when you will shine forth in a manner like never before. You will shine so brightly that many will be drawn into My fold just by the reflection and wonder of the light that is emanating from you. This will be a glorious time for My kingdom. It will expand greatly during this time, and you will see the hand of God sweep across your region in a fashion that will thrill and intoxicate. So, My dear light bearers, shine for your Beloved. Shine forth and let the essence of your God shine from your being. For this will be an hour of unprecedented wonder. Yes, this will be an hour of the light of your God lighting the way for many to come into the bountiful region of My love!!!”

Eight hours later, I received this from R. R.:
“Moses is dead. Leadership you have known in the past will not be a part of your future. I have given you a new charge to keep. Be certain of what I have said of your destiny. Rehearse it, meditate upon it. As you become proficient in My charge to you, I will extend more and more grace. You have everything you need in order to shine for My glory. My kingdom is being established and brought forth today. This happens first in your heart and then in the earth. I tell you today, I am bringing forth those who will be stronger than Moses. Be the Joshua I have destined you to be. Take the land I have given. Occupy until I come.”

Would you not agree with me that the LORD is speaking to you, to me this day? As he spoke in the past, so His Word stands true today; for He is a God of yesterday, today, and forever (Matthew 24: 35; Hebrews 13: 7,8). I have a word for each of you from the LORD and I want to assure you that it IS TRUTH; it will not return to Him empty, but WILL ACCOMPLISH what He desires and will achieve the purpose for which He sent it (Isaiah 55 :11).

The LORD would say unto you…
“Live in peace with each other. And I urge you, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else. Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is My will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not put out the Spirit’s fire; and do not treat prophesies with contempt. Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil. I will sanctify you through and through to ensure your whole spirit, soul, and body will be kept blameless at the coming of My Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. TRUST ME, I WILL DO IT! For the kingdom of God is within you”

I proclaim JESUS as LORD! It is my heart to serve Him with my WHOLE LIFE and with EVERY BREATH that I am given. I pray for His LIGHT and His GLORY to SHINE in and through me to touch the people all around me, every day. This IS the day that the GLORY of His PRESENCE SHINES on ALL NATIONS of the world.

WATCH Watchmen!

“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you must be ready…” “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. … Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour. … Then He returned to His disciples and found them sleeping. “Could you men not keep watch with Me for one hour?” He asked Peter (see also John 13: 37, 38; 21: 15-19; Luke 22: 60-62). “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.” When He came back, He again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. So He left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing. Then He returned to the disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? LOOK, THE HOUR IS NEAR…RISE, LET US GO! …It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. … However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” … Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. …But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that the day should surprise you like a thief. You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like the others, who area sleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled…” (Matthew 24: 36, 42-44; Luke 12: 39, 40; Matthew 25: 13; 26: 40, 41, 45; Mark 14: 34-38; Luke 12: 37; Mark 13: 32, 33; Luke 18: 8; Colossians 4: 2; 1 Thessalonians 5: 4-6).

I feel much change is occurring in the spirit realm and it is manifesting in the physical. There are few believers today who would argue that the enemy is working overtime in his attacks on the believers as well as on the world as a whole. As I pray, I am constantly reassured by the Lord’s presence; that He has always been, is, and will always be in control despite what it may look like in my life, or in the world around me. It is important that we all keep this knowledge as our shield against the many daily stressors. You know, I have come to appreciate the fact that Satan is fallen and many things I attribute to him are often brought on by my own folly. If I rebel through disobedience to God’s Word and do things I KNOW are a ‘bit off color’, I can expect repercussions.

We tie Gods hands if we sin; He cannot look at sin (Mark 15: 33, 34). I have many times stepped out in my ‘flesh’ and done something I knew was wrong; yet when trouble hit, I blamed Satan and called on God to rescue me. Read Judges; it is a great example of how many of us in the body of Christ operate today! We have become FAT and LAZY and LETHARGIC (no energy, sleepy). I rail against it in my office practice almost every day. However, for this moment, I am called to write about getting our spiritual lives shaken awake, our mind focused, and our ears washed out. We are being called to pay CLOSER attention to what the LORD is doing and going to do and hearing what He is saying to His people this day.

Ezekiel the Watchman I have read of Ezekiel’s life and calling many times. He was taught over the years that he must speak all that God wanted him to without fear or compromise; that his message was not to be determined by people’s response, but rather to be spoken out of absolute loyalty to God and His truth. I ask that you read Ezekiel 3: 16-27 for it is here where God calls Ezekiel to be a “watchman”. “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from Me” (vs. 17).

Ezekiel was called to warn his countrymen that those who persisted in sin and in rejection of God would be punished with death. If Ezekiel failed to warn the wicked, he would be held accountable for their death. I believe that under the new covenant, faithful ministers of God must likewise warn people of unrighteousness (Acts 17: 30, 31; Romans 3: 22-24; 1 Corinthians 6: 9-11; 2 Corinthians 7: 10). We must never forget that God has given us the commission to go into ALL the world (even to your neighbor next door) and proclaim the Gospel (Matthew 28: 18-20; Acts 1: 7, 8), which includes the warning of eternal death for all who refuse to repent and believe in Christ (Romans 5: 6-8; 10: 9-13). God has thus made each of us His “watch/man or woman”.

What does the word “watch” mean? I used a word finder as a source and some relevant definitions were as follows:

1.) Examples as a “verb”…
Watch the dancer to see how to do this step (stare, gaze at, observe, note, pay attention to, examine, scrutinize, contemplate)
Watch for an empty seat and grab it (look out for, be on the lookout, be on the alert)
Watch where you are going (pay attention, be careful, be cautious, be on guard, be wary, take heed)
Who is watching the children while the adults are gone (look out for, keep an eye on, care for, oversee, superintend, save, protect, guard)

2.) Examples as a “noun”…
Keep a close watch on the kettle so it doesn’t boil over (surveillance, observance, watchfulness, attention, notice, vigilance, alert, survey)
The watch is late making his rounds (watchman, guard, sentry, sentinel, patrol, scout)

What does the word “watchful” mean?
Examples as an “adjective”… (description: how the “body of Christ” is to be)
The hunter kept a watchful eye on the valley below him (alert, observant, vigilant, attentive, heedful, aware, mindful, open-eyed, wide -awake)

“The sons of Aaron, the priests (see also 1 Peter 2: 9, 10), are to blow the trumpets. This is to be a lasting ordinance for you and the generations to come. When you go into battle in your own land against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets. Then you will be remembered by the LORD your God and rescued from your enemies” (Numbers 10: 8, 9). I enjoy the story of Nehemiah’s call to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem as it is our calling as well; to rebuild the walls of our relationship with Christ.

In Nehemiah 4 we read, “Therefore, I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears, and bows. After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people; ‘Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.’ From that day on, half of my men did the work, while the other half were equipped with spears, shields, bows, and armor (see also Ephesians 6: 10-20). The officers posted themselves behind all the people of Judah who were building the wall. Those who carried materials did their work with one hand and held a weapon in the other, and each of the builders wore his sword at his side (see also Hebrews 4: 12, 13) as he worked. But the man who sounded the trumpet stayed with me. Then I said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, ‘The work is extensive and spread out, and we are widely separated from each other along the wall. Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, join us there. Our God will fight for us!’ (Vs. 13-20).” Oh hallelujah! His TRUTH sets us free!

The LORD would say unto you…
“Therefore, keep watch because you do not know when the Owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. Still Waters Run Deep

Usually we associate these words with a person’s nature; someone who is quiet and causes little disturbance, often thought to be a deep thinker; someone who has profound thoughts or great wisdom. Basically, “there is a lot more to the individual than meets the eye”. The underlying truth of this “word association” is that a river, or stream has areas where the water is rough and noisy and appears to be moving rapidly and other areas where the water appears to be calm, quiet, and still. The still or clam areas of the river are usually much deeper than rapidly flowing water.

I have reviewed the literal meanings of these words in the Oxford Dictionary:

Still: without motion or sound, calm or tranquil; silence; without moving.
Can you “feel” this? For me it represents the purity of complete “peace” (John 14:27; Romans 5:1; 8:6; Colossians 3:15-17; 1Peter 3: 8-12).

Run: to go at a pace faster than walking, never having both of a pair of feet on the ground at once; travel hurriedly, briefly, etc.; advance smoothly or easily, be in action or operation; be current or operative; have course, or order, or tendency; compete in race, finish race in specified position; seek election; flow; spread rapidly or beyond proper place; traverse or make one’s way through or over(course, race, distance); etc., etc.
Does this not sound like what each of our spiritual lives (sanctification) are to model according to God’s Word (2 Timothy 4: 4-8). We are called to STAY FOCUSED and to EMBRACE the call He has on our individual and corporate lives (Hebrews 6: 9-11).

Deep: extending far down or in from top or surface or edge; extending to or lying at specified depth; situated far down, or back, or in; intense, vivid, extreme; heartfelt, absorbing; fully absorbed or overwhelmed; profound, penetration, difficult to understand; deep place or state, etc.
This speaks to me about our personal “relationship” with Jesus Christ. He is calling each of us to become deeply entwined in our relationship with Him so we will be able to draw from His strength and wisdom in touching the lives of those He places about us each day (Psalm 42:7, 8; Luke 5:4-7; 1Corinthians 2:6- 13).

The only way we (as born again in JESUS CHRIST) can be sure that we know God in the right way is to keep His commandments. If someone claims, “I know Him well!” but doesn’t keep His commandments, he’s obviously a liar. His life doesn’t match his words. Anyone who claims to be intimate with God ought to live the same kind of life Jesus lived. Antichrist is anyone who denies that JESUS is the DIVINE CHRIST. No one who denies the Son has any part with the Father, but affirming the Son is an embrace of the Father as well. Stay with what you heard from the beginning, the original Gospel message. Let it SINK INTO your life. If what you heard from the beginning LIVES DEEPLY in you, you will LIVES DEEPLY in both Son and Father. This is exactly what Christ promised: eternal life, real life!

Still Waters Run Deep I’ve written to warn you about those who are trying to deceive you. But they’re no match for what is embedded DEEPLY WITHIN you – Christ’s anointing, no less! You don’t need any of their so-called teaching. Christ’s anointing teaches you the TRUTH on everything you need to know about yourself and Him, uncontaminated by a single lie. LIVE DEEPLY in what you were taught. Stay with Christ and LIVE DEEPLY in Him. Then you will be ready for Him when He appears, ready to receive Him with open arms, with no cause for red-faced guilt or lame excuses when He arrives. Once you’re CONVINCED that He is right and righteous, you’ll recognize that all who practice righteousness are God’s true children.

What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it – we’re called CHILDREN OF GOD! That’s who we really are. But that’s also why the world doesn’t recognize us or take us seriously, because it has no idea WHO HE IS or WHAT HE’S UP TO – all of us who look forward to His COMING stay ready, with the glistening purity of Jesus’ life as a model for our own. So, don’t let anyone divert you from the truth. It’s the person who acts right who is right, just as we see it lived out in our righteous Messiah. Those who make a practice of sin are straight from the Devil, the pioneer in the practice of sin. The Son of God entered the scene to abolish the Devil’s ways. People conceived and brought into life by God don’t make a practice of sin. How could they? God’s seed is DEEP WITHIN them, making them who they are. It’s not in the nature of the God-begotten to practice and parade sin. Here’s how you can tell the difference between God’s children and the Devil’s children: the one who won’t practice righteous ways isn’t from God, nor is the one who won’t love brother or sister… a simple test.

Brothers and sisters, let’s not just talk about love; let’s practice REAL LOVE. This is the only way we’ll know we’re living truly, living in God’s reality. It’s also the ONLY WAY to shut down DEBILITATING SELF-CRITICISM, even when there is something to it! For GOD IS GREATER than our worried hearts and knows more about us than we do ourselves. Once that’s taken care of and we’re no longer accusing or condemning ourselves, we’re then bold and free before God! We’re able to stretch our hands out AND RECEIVE what we asked for because we’re doing what He said, doing what pleases Him. Again, this is God’s command: To BELIEVE in His personally named Son, JESUS CHRIST. He told us to love each other, in line with the original command. As we keep His commands, we LIVE DEEPLY and surely in Him, and He lives in us. And this is how we experience His DEEP and abiding presence in us: by the SPIRIT He gave us.

Friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a “relationship with God”. The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because GOD IS LOVE – so you can’t know Him if you don’t love. This is how God showed His love for us: God sent His only SON into the world so we might LIVE THROUGH HIM. This is the kind of love we are talking about—not that we once upon a time loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a Sacrifice to clear away our sins and the DAMAGE they have done to our RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD!

So, if God loved us like this, we certainly ought to love each other. No one has seen God, ever. But if we love one another, God DWELLS DEEPLY WITHIN US, and His love becomes COMPLETE in us – PERFECT LOVE! This is how we KNOW we’re living steadily and DEEPLY IN HIM and HE IN US: He’s given us LIFE from His LIFE, from His very own SPIRIT. Also, we’ve seen for ourselves and continue to STATE OPENLY that the FATHER SENT HIS SON AS SAVIOROF THE WORLD. Everyone who confesses that JESUS is God’s Son participates continuously in an intimate relationship with God! We KNOW it so well, we’ve EMBRACED it heart and soul, this LOVE that comes from God. (1 John 2-4).

Everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus WILL BE PERSECUTED, while evil men and imposters will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. BUT as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and from infancy you have KNOWN the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. ALL SCRIPTURE IS GOD-BREATHED and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

“In the presence of God and of Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of His appearing and His kingdom, I give you this charge: PREACH the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and ENCOURAGE—with great patience and careful instruction. For, the time will come when men will NOT put up with SOUND DOCTRINE. Instead; to suit their own desires, they WILL gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They WILL turn their ears away from the TRUTH and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of the ministry that God has personally called you to! Amen.” (2 Timothy 4: 1-8)
