“And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount. And the glory of the LORD ABODE upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days; and the SEVENTH day He CALLED unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud. And the sight of the glory of the Lord was like a devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel (Exodus 24: 16, 17). And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain APART, and was transfigured before them: and His face did shine as the sun and His raiment was white as the light. …While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud which said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased: HEAR YE HIM” (Matthew 17: 1-6).

Refuge In His Shadow
I believe that often, it is when we are in a state of desperation, or despair that we reach out to God for help. Our sobbing, or our screaming is heard after we have tried to “fix” everything, or everyone around us all by ourselves AND we find that nothing is working out the way it should. We feel all alone; that no one understands, or cares and I have heard many call it their “wilderness experience.”
However; over time, I have found that being in the wilderness is often a good place to be for it is the place where we are broken before God. It will be in the wilderness that we relinquish control of “self” and recognize our need for God alone. It is a place of humility and it is where the building of godly character begins.
Many of you are part of the Global Prayer Network and each of you will come to recognize that the wilderness (no one else around) will be your place of refuge from the storms of day-to-day life swirling all around you. Jesus went into the wilderness frequently to talk to His Father face to face and to find out what was in His Father’s heart regarding everything He was going through and what He, Jesus was to do. He found wisdom and comfort in His Father’s Presence. So will you.

Thanks, Judy. As I read your posts, my heart rejoices!
I like how you described the wilderness – (when no one else is around) ! Yes! I long for, and desperately need those times. It is as you say, where humility and godly character are formed. It seems as though all hell fights me getting there, but OH, how I love, how I need!, to be with Him in the Secret place, and all the more these days!
His peace and grace be yours always.

Hi Connie…
I was taking part in a Bible study yesterday and the story of Jesus asleep in the boat came up. Mark 4: 35-39. I have read this passage a hundred times and have heard many preach around its message. For the first time, Holy Spirit gave me a new revelation and it is my prayer it will bless you and speak into where you may be (where many of us may be) and where we have to be in the coming days in our relationship with Christ. We read that the disciples are in a storm (one we see the enemy creating to destroy us) crying out to Jesus as fear of drowning mounts up within them. He wakes up and speaks to the storm and it is still and the disciples ask, “Who is this?”…right? Well, I saw a slight twist to this; we see the waves of situations rising up around us (chaos we cannot control in our own strength) and there is Jesus, sound asleep. Well, as believers we are to have the Spirit of God dwelling within us and He IS PEACE. We should be able to be in the midst of a tempest and yet maintain inner PEACE (which will exhibit itself in our reactions). We should be able to sleep in the midst of the storms all around us. If we aren’t, if we allow things, people, situations to upset us, cause fear, etc. then we are NOT really TRUSTING in God…we are leaning to our own ways of thinking and doing. I truly believe this is going to be a KEY SIGN and WONDER in the coming days as the world about us spins out of control…those “IN the world” will NOT HAVE THE PEACE that they will see manifested in those who walk in His presence/glory. They will WANT to experience it… and praise God, that is when and where God will USE YOU! Stay in touch Connie and if you feel so inclined, join the Global PRAYER Network group that are repesented in the comments posted. 🙂

Thanks Judy!
How do I join the Global PRAYER Network group?

Just reply, or pray for those who post needs. I think the KEY way you “join” is to just seek God’s heart and if He puts something on your heart to pray for; write it as a comment on the Blog and ask the group to join with you in praying over it. There is a book I read once called ,”Intercessor” (Rees H???) and the group he prayed with were used globally by God to bring about many significant changes. I would like to see hundreds praying in UNITY the Father’s heart and we will see EVEN GREATER evidence of God’s hand moving around the world…and KNOW it was because of our “asking”, seeking” and “knocking”. Our FAITH will be more than “a measure”…it WILL BE as the MUSTARD SEED that GROWS INTO A HUGE TREE and it is what I see as SUPER/natural FAITH…the kind we need to MOVE MOUNTAINS. We WILL know that as we pray the answer will manifest because God gave us the “what to pray for” and as He said to Gideon (I just read once more in Judges 6) “I am with you” ! I BELIEVE! 🙂
