THERE’S REST IN WAITING

Waiting With Expectation

“I had fainted, unless I had BELIEVED TO SEE the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.  WAIT on the LORD:  be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart:  WAIT, I say, on the Lord”  (Psalm 27: 13, 14)

I am hearing the cries of many believers who are suffering with acute attacks of the “Dis- prefix”.  It is an illness that has a negative or reversing force against the believer’s FAITH in Jesus Christ and what He accomplished for them on the cross.  There are many types and they are all LIFE threatening.  Some that I’ve seen recently are: dis-appointment, dis-trust, dis-cord, dis-turber, dis-suader, dis-torted, dis-couraged, dis-belief, dis-tressful, dis-heartened, dis-tracted, dis-approval, dis-agreeable, and I am sure there are many others that I am unaware of at the moment.  It seems to be pandemic so I have been talking to God about it alot and today He revealed a simple, but often neglected remedy.  In case you have some symptoms that may progress into significant illness, I want to assure you, there is hope for immediate reversal and complete healing.

Yoshi’s walk this afternoon proved to be very tiring as it was very hot.  When we arrived at the off-leash area, he headed straight into the nearby pond.  When he came out he was running about and playing but when I called him, he came to me right away because he anticipates the treat he knows I’ll have for him.  He will sit in front of me and wait for me to give him permission to take the treat being offered.  During the time I held the treat, the word “rest” came into my spirit.  Not only was Yoshi waiting to get the treat, while he was waiting, he was resting in the shade provided by a tree I was standing under.  His strength was being renewed, even though he wasn’t conscious of it during the wait.

My friend, the world is so complex and overstimualting that you can easily lose your sense of direction.  Doing endless activities will drain you of energy very quickly.  If you would put aside all that is waiting to be done and just sit quietly in His Presence; He will strengthen and prepare you to face whatever the day will bring.  By waiting on God, you are actually proclaiming the REALITY of HIS LIVING PRESENCE and this demonstration of your trust in God for all things, will weaken principalities and powers of darkness.  The most effective way to resist evil is to draw nearer to Him.  STAND resting in Him (Isaiah 40: 28-31; Luke 12: 22-26; Ephesians 6: 10-18).

    Hi Judy,

I was thinking about my prayer list, but I don’t know what to pray, because at this moment I have so many doubts about everything about what is truth, it all seems to be mixed up. Am I crazy to believe in God is it all not a joke or something I cann’t get it clear. I don’t feel like reading my bible ( although I think maybe I find the answer there) but I’am to afraid to get disappointed again. I have the feeling that I’am to discover that all isn’t truth, and THAT I cann’t handle. So I donn’t know at this moment ( last weeks) what to do. Did you ever had this kind of thoughts and feelings? I go to church but I cann’t really say amen. I feel like: buhhhahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
    hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
    hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
    So there I said it.
    How do I go further?
    Where are the anwsers?
How did I get here at this point?

  2. Hey sister 🙂

Sometimes it is hard to know the truth, because there are so many oppinions. I feel that the same.
Ik asked the Lord to reveil His truth to me. And He realy is doing that. I began reading the Bible for a few weeks now and ask God what is heart is in every chapter. I write it down and it is, as if I read it for the first time. There is no rush, just time together with God.
So that is helping for me.

I pray for you, that you will find rest at Jesus feet. Rest in your inner-man. KNOWING that you are loved by Him. Knowing JESUS is TRUTH!
I pray for new hunger for revelation, and that your frustration, will lead to Jesus instead of further away. I break every power of dis-apointment and dis-trust over your life, in Jesus Name! Please Lord help my sister and draw here to Youre heart! Holy Spirit, I ask that You will fill here, in Jesus Name

(sorry for my bad english sometimes, I’m from the Netherlands 🙂 )

  3. Dear Precious Saint of GOD dailywordofdestiny,

Your words here bring joy to my heart as I hear the truth contained in them. GOD bless you Judy! And THANK YOU so much for inviting me to this ministry.

I was one of those, in fact just now being delivered from all the dis-whatever, all praise and thanks be to GOD who gives me the victory through Jesus Christ my Lord, who ever lives to make intercession for the saints! One day I had the thought: the Spirit of Christ lives within the heart of each born again believer, and it is HIS intercession THROUGH us for each other that is HIS intercession. Some days, I just know that SOMEONE has prayed for me, and I thank Him, and ask Him to bless the vessel through whom He flowed. HE is the intercessor, we are just His vessels. I don’t know what to pray for as I ought, but the Holy Spirit helps me, making intercession with groans beyond words….My soul shall make it’s boast in the LORD, the humble will hear and be glad! Oh magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together! I sought the LORD and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears! (the absolute necessity of seeking the LORD in His WORD and waiting upon Him in prayer!)The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear him and delivers them! OH taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who trusts in Him.(from Psalm 34)…..TRUSTING IN HIM is where HE is leading me and I find it a wonderful place of rest (the secret place!), but OH to stay there!

King David said in Psalm 27:4-ONE THING I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek; to dwell in the house of the LORD (His Presence) all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in His temple. I was memorizing this Psalm when I first spoke with you. And since then I have seen how much I have just ran ahead of the LORD doing my will, not slowing down to inquire of the LORD, but am in the process, but OH how slowly, to re-train my self to STOP, and ask the LORD if this or that is His will. How tedious, yet how needful. And then there are many times, like just now being led here in the beginning of my devotions, to speak as HE leads. What a joy to follow Him!

As I read this new post last night, such joy overcame me, and just now, as I was doing just what you said, to wait upon Him, to seek Him FIRST, before all the hustle and bustle of all the things that need to be done this day, HE reminded me of your words written here, and I was led to come here, to encourage you, as you encourage us, and to say THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!!

Something about me: I am 54, to be 55 on Oct.8 this year, a housewife in southern Iowa, and mother of a just now 15 year old son. I was not raised in any church. I was born again on March 4th, 1986 in my parents living room. Was baptized in water, and baptized in the Holy Spirit a short time later. I play a little piano (only hymns for Him) I love to garden and preserve the harvest as He supplies. My ministry is to my family, and to my widowed mother, and another widow in our church.

Thank you again. The LORD bless you always.

p.s.s. (I check my email almost every day, but many times don’t have time to respond, and am learning to respond as HE leads. THANK YOU!)

    PAYER FOR JAN:

Father, I agree in prayer with Ineke, for Jan. I believe most of her answer is in the first post here by dailywordofdestiny, and ask that YOU take the living water flowing here, and speak life by them into her spirit. May she learn, as I am still learning, to SLOW WAY DOWN, and consistently seek Him to know His will, inquiring in His temple daily. Help her to have an iron clad commitment to spend daily time in Your WORD Help her LORD, draw her to seek you with all of her heart, and bless her in finding You, and the joy and the peace of Your Holy Presence as she learns to wait upon You, and to trust You with all of her heart! In Jesus holy name I pray and I thank You Father for hearing our prayers. Amen.

    • Connie…I don’t know what’s up with the “time”??? BUT PRAISE THE LORD…you are Right on time with His TRUTH! I just LOVE it when God lets His WORD and TRUTH flow through to touch your life, yes, but other lives as well! HE IS SO AWESOME, I kneel before Him in thanksgiving and praise! Let us all REJOICE in who we are in Christ to the glory of our heavenly Father! You are in a ministry that will bring abundant eternal rewards as well as bring you GREAT JOY!

    • Thank you David (World Missions & Evangelism) for the privilege you have given all of us to pray into Honduras and the people of that country in South America! I am excited about what God is going to accomplish in and through His people in this continent of the world over the coming years!

I am grateful for your prayer participation in praying for requests made through Comments Posted and by taking a look at the other Links which God has connected for this time.

As time allows, would you write a brief review of what Discovery Bible Study groups are? Perhaps another time, you could talk about the vision of church planting that you use. The rest may like some brief insight into the slant you have in Church plants and some of the things you are doing in Honduras. God bless you and all the team in Honduras…God WILL meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus!

  6. Discovery Bible Studies are small group studies that are based around a 3 Column Bible Study format. A 3 Column Bible Study is when you study a text of scripture, usually a few verses comprising a paragraph or 2, but up to a whole chapter. First you read the scripture several times (or write it out if you are doing this in a written format). Then you write out or discuss the meaning of the text, putting it in your own words so that on some level you “understand” what it is saying. Then you write out or discuss how you will obey the principles or commands in that passage. So it is a kind of Biblie Study that leads to obedience to the word. When a 3 column Bible study is done in a small group of people together to hear the word, understand the word, and then obey the word….and in which they are “Discovering” for themselves these things (rather than being taught or told by a teacher), that is a Discovery Bible Study.

This is the format that we use in Honduras with “Pre-Believers”. We help them to do DBS groups that over at least a 24 week period study scriptures beginning in Genesis 1 and continuing on to the life, death, resurrection of Jesus and an understanding of the gospel. When the persons in the group come to a discovery and a decision to obey the gospel and follow Christ and be baptized, a small church is born!

That is a small idea of a DBS, and if there are questions or comments I would love to further interact and give even more indepth explanations.
    Thanks much!
