A CALL TO REST IN HIM (Part 2)

Union of Rest

And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made (Genesis 2: 2).  “It is finished” (John 19: 30).

God rested (Hb. shabath: desist from exertion).  Exertion reminds me of sweat and labor of the flesh, and of us doing rather than us being.  True rest does not take any of our own effort.  You don’t have to stir it up, or make it up; you just agree with what the Lord is doing and do as He tells you (i.e. John 5: 19 that He can only do what He sees the Father do).  If He is NOT doing anything you just sit and be quiet.  It is important to note that Jesus also promises His disciples, “…the things I do you can do also…” (John 14: 12).

I believe we are about to see a new and radical CHURCH coming forth and being released in the earth.  Every member of this CHURCH will be so IN LOVE with God, so fused together with His heart and character that they will not do anything without seeing God do it first.  They will say, “Lord, I cease from all my works; what are You doing?”  And then, they will wait on God and SEE Him to do exceeding abundantly above ALL that we ask or think

  1. AMEN As I learn to “Rest in Him” and His finished work, relying in and trusting in Him I see the new Covenant working in my favour.
He is My God and I am one of His people. He loves me with an everlasting Love. He first loved me, and I know and believe and trust Him with my life, day by day.
God is no respecter of persons so if He will do this for me, He will do it for you.
Will you believe (trust in, adhere to and rely on) Him, that He will do what He says in His word, that He will do.
The old Covenant, basically the Law, written on stone, “exterior” was a schoolmaster to teach us about sin, which separates us from a Holy God,
In the new covenant, God says that He will write it on our hearts (interior) that we can know Him by His Holy spirit. a relationship without barriers, because of the finished work and blood of the Son of the Living God, we can come boldly, yet humbly, into the very throne room of God, because of His great love for each one of us.

Rest in Him and be blessed with every spiritual blessing, Ken

    • I like your words, ‘relationship without barriers’. We are the ones who create barriers; deciding how much of our life we want God to have. Thanks for the sharing and testimony of Jesus, the Christ that you bring to all who share the blog.

“Father, I pray that all of us will willingly, in love and reverence, continue to give more of our ‘self’ to You; that You will completely swallow us into Your glory and Presence. That we will SHINE brighter and brighter in reflection of Christ for Your glory and honor. For Your word says, ‘as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly’ (1 Cor. 15: 49) and we give You thanks for the VICTORY we have through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.”

  2. Woh, thank you that was just what I need to hear.
I have heard it before it is not new for me, but so good you remind me of it. Just look what the Father is doing ( it is so easy!!?!!!)
He is taking care of His children, and so must we.
    Thank you Judy.
    Veel liefs Erica

    • I like the verse in Ephesians that says so much; ONE God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all (4: 6).
      God bless you.
