JESUS: THE GIFT OF LIFE

God Is In Control

John 1: 1-16 … In the beginning (before all time) was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.  He was present originally with God.  All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being. (read Hebrews 11: 3) In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men.  The people who walked in darkness have seen a great Light; those who dwelt int he land of intense darkness and the shadow of death, upon them the Light shined (Isaiah 9: 2; and read 2 Cor. 4: 3-6).  And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it (put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it).  (read Ephesians 5: 8, Philippians 2: 15; Revelation 21: 23-26)  There it was– the true Light coming into the world (the genuine, perfect, steadfast Light) that illumines every person.  (read Isaiah 49: 6)

For unto US a Child is born, to US a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father (of Eternity), Prince of Peace.  Of the increase of His government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from the (latter) time forth, even forevermore.  The ZEAL of the Lord of hosts will perform this (Isaiah 9: 6, 7).

And Joseph also went up from Galilee from the town of Nazareth to Judea, to the town of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, to be enrolled with Mary, his espoused wife, who was about to become a mother.  (read Matthew 1: 20-23)  And she gave birth to her Son, her Firstborn; and she wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room or place for them in the inn.  (read Isaiah 9: 13; John 1: 10, 11; Rev. 9: 20, 21; 11: 10; 16: 9;, 11, 21)  And in the vicinity there were shepherds living in the field, watching over their flock by night.  And behold, an angel of the Lord stood by them, and the glory of the Lord (shone about them), and they were terribly frightened.  But the angel said to them, Do NOT be afraid; for behold I bring you GOOD NEWS of great JOY which will come to ALL the people.  For to YOU IS born THIS DAY  a Savior, Who is Christ (the Messiah) the Lord!  (read Mark 1: 1; Luke 1: 78, 79)  (Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming–in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning–lest, coming suddenly, He find you sleeping.  And what I say to you, I say to all:  Watch!  Mark 13: 35-37).  Then suddenly there appeared with the angel an army of the troops of heaven (a heavenly knighthood) PRAISING GOD and saying, Glory to God in the highest (heaven), and on earth PEACE among men with whom He is well pleased (of His favor). (read John 13: 34, 35)

So the shepherds said to one another, Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing (saying) that has come to pass, which the LORD HAS MADE KNOWN TO US.  SO THEY WENT WITH HASTE and (by searching) found Mary and Joseph, and the Baby lying in a manger.  And WHEN THEY SAW it, THEY MADE KNOWN what had been told them concerning THIS CHILD  (read Matthew 28: 17-20; Mark 16: 15; Romans 10: 8-18).  And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace (favor and spiritual blessing) of God was upon Him (Luke 2: 40).

And then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse (appeared)!  The One Who was riding it is called Faithful (Trustworthy, Loyal, Incorruptible, Steady) and True, and He passes judgment and wages war in righteousness (holiness, justice, and uprightness)… He is dressed in a robe dyed by dipping in blood, and the title by which He is called is THE WORD OF GOD.  And the TROOPS  (us) of heaven, clothed in fine linen, dazzling and clean (read 2 Pet 3: 14),  followed Him on white horses.  From His mouth goes forth a sharp sword  (read Heb. 4: 12, 13) with which He can smite (afflict, strike) the nations; and He will shepherd and control them with a staff (rod) of iron.  He will tread the winepress of the fierceness of the wrath and indignation of God the All-Ruler (Almighty).  And on His garment and on His thigh He has a name inscribed, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS  (Revelation 19: 11-16)!  Hallelujah!

God BLESS you this PROMISE-FULFILLED season… look with EXPECTANCY in this moment, into all the moments you have, to see and to touch the Glory of His indwelling Presence!  JESUS CHRIST (the Messiah) IS (ALWAYS) THE SAME, yesterday, today (YES) and forever (Heb. 13: 8).  ETERNAL LIFE; our everyday for always gift, through Christ…Thank You, Father!

The Lord is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. The Lord is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation.
All of your works will thank you, Lord, and your faithful followers will praise you.
They will speak of the glory of your kingdom; they will give examples of your power. They will tell about your mighty deeds and about the majesty and glory of your reign. For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. You rule throughout all generations.Thank you Precious Lord.

    • Subsidy or no subsidy, if you TRUST in the Lord, He will bless you. The Lord will make you like a tree planted near water that sends its roots by a stream. You will be not afraid when the days are hot, for your leaves will always be green. However, you have to trust in the Lord and be in right standing with Him. -Pastor Magumba Carlos Waiswa

    The Nighttime Intrusion

“But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you…'” (Luke 2:10-11).
    Scripture Focus: Luke 2:8-16

King David temporarily improved the shepherd image a thousand years earlier. So when the angel’s voice directed our shepherds to the town of David, they listened. In fact, everything about the angel’s words gripped them. “Do not be afraid,” he told the normally brave ones who could fight off wolves handily. “I bring you good news of great joy;” how welcomed that would be for ones used to hardship. “Today a Savior has been born to you.” Today? Now? After generations of waiting? Would their mundane lives of sheep tending now be punctuated by the event foretold to them for centuries? Amazing! The angel declared that the Savior was born “to you.” Nothing in society was ever for them…unless it was blame for thievery or disgust for their filth. Yet he said the Savior was for them.

In other translations of the Bible “Behold!” is found in the angel’s greeting. I tell my children it means “Wow! Look!” That is exactly what God would have us do: be awed at His miraculous plan, and draw near to see how it is for you and me.

Insight: “The Lord protects the simplehearted; when I was in great need, he saved me” (Psalm 116:6).

  3. Emergency Need in Philippines
Click on the Fullness in Christ Ministry link by the blog message

On Friday a major tropical storm, Typhoon Sendong (also called Washi), hit the Philippines. Reports so far tell us that more than 650 bodies have been recovered with over 1000 people still missing, many of them children. One report we heard is that entire villages had been swept out to sea.

Children along the riverside had to flee for their lives on Friday night. Now they try to make sense of the mess around them.
In two of the hardest hit places, Iligan City and Cagayan de Oro, we have more than 200 sponsored children. We’ve talked by phone with two of our pastors and have had e-mail communication with others. As best we know now, all the sponsored children survived, but many of them lost everything in the floods and high winds that came in the middle of the night while most were sleeping. The pastor in Iligan City said the ones living on the riverside all had to flee for their lives.

Boyet, one of our sponsored children in Iligan City. Happy to have survived. We rejoice that all 123 of our sponsored children in Iligan City survived.
Many of you sent swift and generous donations. Thank you. We’ve already sent money to pastors for food and water for the victims, which is still the immediate need. Our pastor in Iligan City said they also need blankets and clothing. The children will also need new school supplies and uniforms and shoes. One pastor in Cagayan de Oro used the money we sent to get Christmas for the sponsored children to give them emergency help for their needs. We will send more for those needs and also replace what was intended for Christmas. Of all times, the kids will need a special Christmas, it is now.

We have sent and are sending immediate help for food and water. Other needs will come later. Would you like to help us meet this need? If you can help, send your money to Ministry to Children. We will make sure what you send gets to our pastors for the children and their families.

Thank you for your prayers for those affected by this tragedy.

  5. Merry Christmas to all of you. Thanks so much for your prayers for the Honduras project this year. We are so excited about all that God is doing in the work. This year a church multiplying movement has begun that is impacting the people of Honduras. God is answering in a wonderful way and we give Him thanks and praise for all that He is doing.
Randy and Linda Travis and Keith and Juanita Travis visited with my wife Patty, and I last week. We have been making plans for the work next year and we believe that God has been helping us during the strategy sessions. Next week, in the prayer requests, I will be giving a little preview of what we are planning in 2012 so that you can be covering this coming year in prayer.
Here are the prayer requests for this week.
    1) Pray that all the groups in the areas where Carlos and Oscar are working would reproduce and start many new studies reaching out into new communities.
    2) Pray for the new Discovery Bible Study (DBS) in Samaritano
    3) Pray for the contact that is being made to start a new DBS in the village of Colindres
    4) Pray that God would deal with a family in Las Vegas, Santa Barbara about starting a new DBS in their home or in the village.
    5) Pray that the Lord would give team leader Mario courage and wisdom to continue sharing His Word.
    6) Pray that God will strengthen all the teams that we have working in Honduras. Pray that doors will be opened to them. Pray that they will encouraged, protected, courageous, and bold to announce the good news. They are all working in dangerous areas. They are all working in radical catholic strongholds.
    7) Pray for I in Tres Cruces. He is an alcoholic.
    8) Pray for M in Cruz Alta. He has decided to continue studies with his family in spite of the persecution but he says only with his immediate family. That that he will have boldness.

    News & Prayer Update

    Shalom dear Judy,

We’re about to close 2011, and looking back we are amazed to see how mightily God has been working in Israel, and also humbled by the part we get to play in his divine plan for His people.

I would like to share with you about a mission that the Lord gave me this past year.

A few years ago, while my family and I were going through a difficult season of persecutions because of our faith, things were so bad that the authorities even tried to revoke our Israeli citizenship.

At that time I received a prophetic word from my spiritual father, Pastor Ulf Ekman, who told me that all these attempts to revoke my citizenship will fail, that God will use me to witness to the people of Israel, to the nations, and to government officials, especially Israeli ones.
I admit that at the time it seemed impossible for two reasons; First, because Israeli believers have never had these kind of opportunities before, and second was the tremendous pressure I was under because of all the persecutions from the Orthodox community and the mass demonstrations that took place right outside our building that we had to endure regularly.
But as we know, “no word from God will ever fail.” (Luke 1:37), He is faithful in what He has promised and He can do the impossible.

It’s been several years since that and God has revealed his grace in such a way that after every social and humanitarian project we have made wonderful connections and even friendships with different government officials. I’m more and more convinced that God has given me a special calling to witness about God to these people, many of whom have even become our friends. We see how they change their preconceived ideas about Messianic believers after spending time with us. I share with them about how so many Christians are truly friends of Israel, and it always touches their hearts deeply.

Because of all this, as well as our growing influence in the city (as a result of our humanitarian and social work), I started receiving offers for different positions within the political circles. When I would reply, “Doesn’t it bother you that I’m a pastor in Israel?” they would say, “It doesn’t matter, these two things don’t necessarily have to clash.” It showed me how far we’ve come along from the days when we were treated with disdain and an embarrassment for Israel. Glory to God!

While we were praying with our team about this, we came to the conclusion that as long as we operate in our gifts, fulfilling God’s calling on our lives, people from all walks of life will feel drawn to us BECAUSE of God’s favor and anointing.
Like in Samuel’s case – “And the boy Samuel continued to grow in stature and in favor with the LORD and with people.” (1 Sam. 2:26)
And Jesus – “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” (Luke 5:52)

But we knew that if we stepped out of our calling and gifts and tried to take on things that just seemed like a good idea, people would eventually grow disappointed in us, since it is because we have favor with God that we also have favor with men.

It helped me draw the line and set clear boundaries, as well as a come up with a strategy of how this aspect of our ministry would work. And our strategy is: We will offer help and encouragement; we will be companions in this journey, walking alongside you. We will work with you, but not for you.

News about development of this ministry

Beginning of February 2012, I and my wife – Vicky, together with deputy mayor Jacob and his wife, and a Knesset Member with her husband, will fly to Washington D.C. to attend The National Prayer Breakfast. It’s a series of events that are held over the course of a few days, and is attended by many U.S. Senators, Congressmen, politicians and international dignitaries and guests. The main event takes place on the last day of the NPB and is hosted by the President of the United States.

This is an incredible opportunity for us to build bridges and relationships with different people, share about God, His Word, His promises and Israel. In this trip program we also have planned to visit some churches, meet local Christian politicians. The very fact that an Israeli pastor has the connections to invite a deputy mayor and a Knesset Member to such an important and prestigious event generates a lot of interest in us and shows us in a new light.
This year we were blessed with our accommodations and participation in NPB paid for. We do however have to cover the expenses of our plain tickets – in total 3,000 dollars.

    Please pray:

    1) Provision for airfare to Washington D.C.

    2) God to use our time with the Israeli politicians we’re flying with:

    Build relationships

    • His favor

    • Opportunities to witness

    • Change in attitudes toward believers in Israel – to see we’re a blessing to the nation of Israel.

Knesset honors Christian supporters of Israel – a special event we were invited to be a part of

This past November leading members of the Israeli Parliament (Knesset), honored the global Christian community for its support of the Holocaust survivors and its stand for the state of Israel. The event where Christian leaders from close to 30 nations were present was an official session of the Knesset and included recognitions and statements of gratitude for all that the worldwide Christian community has done and continues to do for Israel and the Holocaust Survivors.

The event also included an official ceremony where for the first time in the history of the Knesset, Christian musicians sang songs of praise honoring God from the platform in the presence of both Israeli government officials and the Christian supporters, who also committed to working together in helping stop the global spreading of Antisemitism, as well as continuing to support Holocaust survivors.

Helping people in need – clothing the poor in downtown Ashdod

Thanks to the growing number of volunteers at Beit Hallel Congregation, as well believers from different countries who come to volunteer and help, our clothing center has started operating daily.

Every day, dozens of people in need come to receive clothes

For families facing desperate hardship and struggling on meager incomes very often don’t have any means left to buy new clothes or shoes for their children or themselves. In our clothing center we help them by providing clothes, toiletries, blankets, shoes, diapers and whatever else generous humanitarian organizations ship to us for distribution.

Every day dozens of Israelis come to our clothing center, where we always have coffee/tea available for them. It helps set the tone of what we’re doing there and people do feel cared for and loved. More and more we see people who come nothing more than for fellowship, for the one-on-one conversations they have with our volunteers. In return they invite us to their humble homes, so they can host us and even share the little that they have with us.

We see how much fruit this work is bearing. It also unites the believers when they help, pray and minister to people in need who are unsaved.
Recently a group of Orthodox Jews came by our clothing center to disrupt our work. They started harassing people, telling them not to receive anything from us. But then a surprising thing happened – the people who came to the center, non-believers, were indignant to see how our team was treated and came to their defense chasing the persecutors away.

That is truly wonderful, when our actions speak for us that even non-believers rush to help defend us against those who persecute us.
Please pray that this valuable work we do will continue changing people’s opinions about Messianic believers in Israel, so we can continue sowing God’s love and care into these people.

“For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people.”
    1 Peter 2:15

    • Israel;
I am deeply touched by this letter from your heart. It’s message is truly one of HOPE and God’s amazing grace. I was paticularily blessed by your wisdom about each of us stepping out in what God leads us to do, rather than going ahead of Him and just doing for the sake of doing. When we walk in faith and in unity with Holy Spirit, God will truly be revealed in and through us to touch those He has placed under our sphere of influence. His blessing is already assured. Your ministry is such an awesome example of this! Thank you so much for sharing. God bless you as you continue to move forward in your calling.

  9. Thank you Judy for ur words of wisdom n ur prophetic use of the Word. Have a very blessed Christmas n a Wonder-filled New Year.

  10. Conquest to Victory

And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. (Romans 16:20)

This promise follows well upon that of yesterday. We are evidently to be conformed to our covenant Head, not only in His being bruised in His heel but in His conquest of the evil one. Even under our feet is the old dragon to be bruised. The Roman believers were grieved with strife in the church; but their God was “the God of peace” and gave them rest of soul. The archenemy tripped up the feet of the unwary and deceived the hearts of the simple; but he was to get the worst of it and to be trodden down by those whom he had troubled. This victory would not come to the people of God through their own skill or power; but God Himself would bruise Satan. Though it would be under their feet, yet the bruising would be of the Lord alone.

Let us bravely tread upon the tempter! Not only inferior spirits but the prince of darkness himself must go down before us. In unquestioning confidence in God let us look for speedy victory. “Shortly.” Happy word! Shortly we shall set our foot on the old serpent! What a joy to crush evil! What dishonor to Satan to have his head bruised by human feet! Let us by faith in Jesus tread the tempter down.
