Serious Business
Jacob exclaimed, “You are robbing me of my children! Joseph is gone! Simeon is gone! And now you want to take Benjamin, too. Everything is going against me!” (Genesis 42: 36). And Joshua said, Alas, O Lord GOD, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? would to God we had been content, and dwelt on the other side of Jordan! (Joshua 7: 7) Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; yet every one of them does curse me. (Jeremiah 15: 10) And He said unto them, What manner of communications are these that you have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad? (Luke 24: 17)
We have all asked God “Why?” Why are things happening this way, why are they happening at all? What have I done to deserve this? For example, Olive has to eat her apples and yams for the nutrition they provide her growing body. She may very well be pondering why not donuts and coffee, or for that matter, why eat at all? As Olive relies on her parents’ wisdom, God’s Word tells us to trust in Him alone (1 Corinthians 1: 8-10, 1 Timothy 4: 10).
We all tend to plan and predict that this or that is going to happen in our life and in the world about us, but we forget to make room for God’s ability, His sovereignty, and His ultimate plans for all mankind. He most likely will not reveal Himself at your timing or in the way you think He should; however, He will show up in His “perfect timing” and according to His eternal and perfect plan.
Give God room to maneuvre in your life; trust Him to know what is best in all your situations. He sees the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46: 10; Revelation 1: 8; 22: 13)!

Let Your Heart Rest
The Lord protects the simplehearted; when I was in great need, he saved me.

I know I shouldn¹t be upset, but I feel like rushing into God¹s presence and screaming, ³Help! Help! I¹m overwhelmed with problems and needs — my own and those all around me!²
God gives the way to deal with heart turmoil. I¹m to rest in Him, trusting Him and reflecting on His goodness. In the past, He has heard my cry and responded in mercy. When I¹ve been burdened with sorrow, He has brought comfort. He’s been loving to me because His heart is full of compassion. Graciously, He protects even the undeserving, offering love and care to all who look to Him.
So today, when my heart is so burdened that I can¹t even articulate my concerns, when my thoughts are almost paralyzed, I¹ll remember His goodness and tell Him, I will sacrifice a thank offering to You and call on the name of the Lord² (vs. 17). I won¹t wait to see God¹s answer before I thank Him. Resting is trusting even when I can¹t see how God can possibly answer my heart cries, resting is living in hope of what He will do.

What The Lord Is Saying Today January 22, 2012.
Your mind seems to be spinning around on so many things at one time. It is becoming confusing. Even at night when you lay your head on your pillow, the spinning continues. Are you ready for Me to help you? I say unto you, “Pray unto Me that I will order your mind and emotions according to My will. If you do this, neither your will or the will of the world and the devil will prevail. The devil is the author of lies and confusion. His scheming is aimed at destroying both you and your peace of mind. I have given you the mind of Christ. His is a mind of peace. He is neither stressed nor anxious about anything. Therefore calmly submit yourself, your mind, will and emotions to the mind of Christ. Take a deep breath and allow Jesus to be Jesus in you as I intend and as you desire. You are precious to Me.
